ARTAS Net Preamble
Good morning, everyone.
This is the “Amateur Radio Travel Advisory Service” for the (day) (month) (year).
This net meets every morning at 0800 hours on the Lansdowne repeater, VA3LGA, which is
operated by the Brockville Amateur Radio Club (BARC) and has been in operation since
December of 1993.
Net control is (your name) (call sign) and is located in (town or area).
(give latest available weather and traffic)
The conduct of the net and participants is as follows:
1. Identify yourself by your licence call sign.
2. Report the weather and traffic from your QTH.
3. Keep transmissions within the 3-minute repeater timeout. If you wish to continue a
conversation, do so after the net, once the repeater is returned to regular amateur use.
4. Political, religious, or sex/gender comments or innuendo will not be tolerated.
5. Respect for other operators is expected.
CALL FOR STATIONS:
“Are there any mobile or portable stations wishing to check in from either side of the border?
Please call now.”
(When stations give their call, wait no more than 5 seconds before acknowledging. If no
stations call, wait about 30 seconds before repeating the call.)
“Are there any base stations wishing to check in from either side of the border? Please call now.”
