President Martin Bordt (VE3MHA) welcomed the members and thanked everyone for their participation. He also highlighted recent activities, including the Kring Point Amateur Radio Gathering and BBQ, which saw approximately 50 participants and broke even financially with support from the Thousand Islands Radio Club.
The minutes of the 2 September 2025 meeting were distributed by Secretary Marcel Frigault (VA3MAF). No changes were requested. Stuart (VE3STY) moved to adopt the minutes as presented, seconded by Brent (VE3GXD). Motion carried unanimously.
Rob Taillon (VA3KTU) reported on participation at the St. Albert Hamfest and referred members to his notes in the September 2025 newsletter.
Marcel reminded members that the membership cycle runs from 1 July to 30 June. As of this meeting, the club has 16 paid Regular members. Members were encouraged to renew promptly, as RAC affiliation and insurance premiums depend on accurate membership counts.
Treasurer Mike Finlay (VE3BMF) presented the financial update. The closing balance as of 30 September 2025 was $1,670.86. The report was accepted by motion of the President and unanimously approved by the membership.
Rob (VA3KTU) updated members on the Thousand Islands Net (Fridays at 20h00) and the daily ARTAS Net (08h00). Additional net controllers are being sought, especially for Thursdays. Some net controllers are non-current club members; the membership expressed no concerns given the good conduct and oversight in place.
An open discussion was held regarding the VA3LGA repeater, including historical background and previous technical work. No formal decisions or actions were recorded.
No separate reports from the Webmaster or Facebook Administrator were presented at this meeting.
Stuart mentioned his recent visit to the Diefenbunker in Carp and recommended it as a worthwhile destination for members.
The meeting was adjourned at 21h00. The next meeting is scheduled for 4 November 2025.
